Pensacola’s Very Own Al Stubblefield Receives American Hospital Association Award Of Honor

Alfred G. Stubblefield, president and CEO, Baptist Health Care, accepted the 2008 Award of Honor on April 7, 2008, during the American Hospital Association’s annual meeting in Washington, DC.

Al was chosen for this prestigious award for his outstanding contributions to improving the health status of communities and the nation. This award recognizes his exemplary contributions to the health and well-being of the people through leadership on major health policies or social initiatives.

Al has been with BHC since 1985, and has served in his current position since 1999. Before coming to Baptist, he worked in hospital in Mississippi and Tennessee. Al has served on the AHA Board of Trustees and Executive Committee and is currently on the board of the AHA’s Health Research and Educational Trustee. He is currently serving on the VHA and Florida Hospital Association Board of Trustees, is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, has served on the board of FHA and is former Chairman of the Association of Voluntary Hospitals of Florida.

AHA Award of Honor Background
The Association may grant the Award of Honor to individuals, organizations, or groups to recognize an exemplary contribution to the health and well-being of the people through leadership on a major health policy or social initiative. The person or organization considered for the Award of Honor shall have made or be making a truly outstanding contribution through an initiative to improve the health status of individuals, targeted groups, communities, or the nation. The individual may have a primary occupation either within or without the health field; the organization may be either within or without the health field.
