Subacute Services
The subacute care program at Baptist Manor offers ongoing medical treatment, skilled nursing care and rehabilitative therapy-all with the goal of sending our patient home as soon as possible. Services include:
- Respiratory Therapy
- Infusion Therapy
- Wound Care
- Physical Therapy
- Speech Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Patients who must undergo a difficult rehabilitation period find encouragement from a caring staff. They also face an intense schedule of therapy that improves and speeds their recovery. Every private or semi-private room is furnished with the medical equipment and supplies needed to support the patient's care.
The subacute care program is housed in the same building as Baptist Manor's long-term skilled nursing program. However, the 34-bed subacute program has a separate entrance, separate recreation and lounge areas, and separate professional staff members.
Admission
Baptist Manor's link with Baptist Hospital and Gulf Breeze Hospital makes the transition from the hospital easy. Our program coordinator visits each hospital routinely, meeting with patients and their physicians to determine who will benefit from this service.
You may be referred to the subacute care program at Baptist Manor by your physician or by one on our board-certified specialist physicians. In all cases, arrangements to participate begin before you are released from the hospital. Your physician, our admissions coordinator and your family members meet to determine which services at Baptist Manor will meet your needs and to plan your retirement. |

Staff Staff in the subacute care program include registered nurses, therapists, case management consultants and physicians. All staff are trained to work with patients in transition.
They work as a team to see that each person's treatment progresses as planned and to adjust treatment as necessary to improve your recovery. Plans for your discharge begin on the day you are admitted.
Patients typically spend only 20 to 30 days on our subacute care unit before they go home.
