As the emphasis on quality of life for cancer patients increases, the need for
cancer support services increases as well. At the Cancer Institute of Baptist
Hospital, Cancer Support Service is not only a place but also an approach to
providing psychosocial services to patients and their families from the time
of diagnosis through the continuum of care.
Individual patient education is
available for patients and their families; in addition, a number of support groups
are
offered. Additional support is available through the services of the Dietary,
Resource Management and Pastoral Care departments.
