New
Technology
In 2004, funds were distributed to women’s services to help
complete a renovation of the labor, delivery and recovery areas.
The new women’s center added many amenities to patient rooms
to make the birth of a baby as comfortable as possible. Your donations
also enabled patient comfort enhancements to be made in many patient
rooms throughout Baptist Hospital. In addition, funding allowed
women to get mammograms and children to get speech therapy who
otherwise could not afford it.
Gulf
Breeze Hospital Expansion
Baptist Health Care Foundation led the effort to raise more than $1 million to
offset the costs of expansion and growth of Gulf Breeze Hospital. The $25.5 million
expansion plan included: a new medical office building, a cancer center, an outpatient
physical therapy center and a hospital addition.
Prescriptions
New developments in medications are keeping people alive longer, and helping
them live fuller lives, even after catastrophes such as heart attacks
and battles with cancer. In 2004, the Foundation dispersed more than
$140,000 in prescription drug grants to cancer patients, heart patients
and others in need.

houses a full-size gymnasium, fitness room, dance and exercise room, art studio,
four classrooms and an executive meeting room. It serves the recreational,
fitness, therapeutic, congregational, and the training needs of clients, staff
and the Baptist Health Care community.
The Center is named for Lakeview’s first president, Dr. Morris L. Eaddy,
who retired in 2003 after 40 years of service at Lakeview. Baptist Health Care

Pensacola’s
Promise
The Foundation acts as a fiscal agent for Pensacola’s Promise, which
serves the citizens of Escambia County by matching resources with identified
needs. Pensacola’s Promise is a local arm of America’s Promise,
founded by Secretary of State Colin Powell to unite businesses, nonprofits
and agencies in delivering five fundamental promises to all kids in America.
Those five promises are: ongoing relationships with caring adults, safe places
with structured activities, a healthy start and future, marketable skills through
education, and opportunities to give back to the community through service.
Baptist
Manor Chapel Project
Baptist Health Care Foundation continues to raise funds for the construction
of a chapel at Baptist Manor. Baptist Manor was the only Baptist inpatient
facility without a chapel to allow for quiet reflection and prayer. Through
donations made by the staff and physicians of Baptist Manor, as well as area
churches, businesses and individuals, the chapel should be dedicated in 2005.
The chapel will be named the Dr. Robert E. Bondurant Chapel, thanks to Dr.
Bonderant’s tireless efforts to ensure the well-being of the residents
of Baptist Manor.
