The Friary Celebrates 30 years of Helping People Overcome Life's Challenges
Treatment Works.
This year, the Friary of Lakeview Center celebrates 30 years of helping
people overcome lifes challenges. The Friary is a treatment facility
for addictions, alcohol and drug dependencies and other related
problems. Throughout the treatment process, the employees
of the Friary understand the pain of addiction and in a caring, professional
atmosphere help develop the skills needed for recovery.
Location Works.
The Friary is located just east of Gulf Breeze on the beautiful Pensacola
Bay. The site was once a retreat for retired Franciscan friars,
and since 1977, the
tranquil, serene setting
has proven to be ideal
for those beginning the
recovery process.
In 1996, the Friary became
a service of Lakeview
Center, as an affiliate
of Baptist Health Care.
Service Works.
The Friary offers in-patient
and out-patient services
and a confidential
assessment that is available
to help determine
the appropriate treatment
services. There is no charge for the initial assessment. In-patient
services include detoxification and residential/rehabilitation
levels of care. Day treatment and intensive out-patient services are
also available.
Quality Works.
One of the Friarys many strengths is its small size of 45 dedicated
employees and 30 beds. A higher quality of treatment can be administered
because of this effective ratio of employees to residents.
The Friary places high value on its family component. Every Friday
is Family Day enabling the residents family members to visit and

become more educated on the services it provides.
Outside amenities such as a pool, gazebo and grill enhance the
residents stay and encourage relaxation.
Continuing Care Works.
The Friarys extended services include a large continuing care program
and alumni association. As an organization committed to providing
the highest quality service, the Friary encourages alumni to
share their testimony of recovery with current residents.
Alumni have the opportunity to give back to the Friary while enhancing their own recovery through carrying their
story back to other residents.
Many choose to offer financial support as well. The Friary maintains monthly contact with the members of the alumni association up to two years after treatment and allows alumni to remain in the association as long as they desire. An annual retreat is hosted for the alumni as an appreciation of their commitment and support to the Friary.
Recovery Works.
We have been proving for 30 years that treatment works and results
in recovery, said George Crisco, director of the Friary.
Heres to 30 more years as the Friary continues to live its mission of helping people overcome lifes challenges. The Friary works.
