Certified respiratory therapists provide inpatient and outpatient care. Physicians specially trained in internal and pulmonary critical medicine see patients in the hospital’s outpatient clinic to provide care for people with chronic and acute lung disease.

Atmore Community Hospital invites members of the community who are age 50 an older to join a NEW program called GoldenCare. GoldenCare is a program of special services for seniors. There are no fees or dues. We offer the program to you as a community service, part of our ongoing effort to improve the quality of your life.

Inpatient Acute Care
In our medical surgical unit, we provide care to patients needing treatment for acute illnesses or short-term postoperative care. Patients requiring prolonged recuperation or rehabilitation are possible candidates for short term nursing care.

Inpatient and Outpatient Surgery

Physical Therapy
The physical therapy department provides inpatient and outpatient treatment including stroke rehabilitation and post-op knee or hip replacement therapy. Treatment for sports injuries and wounds are also provided. Experienced, skilled therapists provide top quality care in a fully-equipped physical therapy department.

Short Term Nursing Care
Atmore Community Hospital provides short term nursing care. If eligible, patients can remain in the hospital with 24-hour registered nurse coverage rather than being transferred to a nursing home facility. Patients may qualify if they require intravenous medications, physical therapy, wound care or other services deemed necessary by a physician.
