The Baldrige Program criteria was established by Congress to recognize the best qualities of American enterprise - an organization's strengths in leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, human resources and business performance.
The 2003 Baldrige Award winners are role models of world-class excellence and they have achieved extraordinary results. The men and women of these organizations represent the highest ethical standards in public responsibility and corporate stewardship.
President George W. Bush presented the Baldrige Award in a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on March 9, 2004.
Baptist Hospital Inc. was selected after an extensive review process including an onsite visit to Baptist Hospital, Gulf Breeze Hospital, and Baptist Medical Park - Nine Mile by seven national examiners. The team interviewed employees, observed operations, and examined documents to evaluate Baptist's level of performance excellence.
