Inpatient (Children)
Children who are in need of intense psychiatric management of their symptoms are treated within secured inpatient settings, generally for short periods of time. Psychiatric services are provided only by medical doctors who are board certified psychiatrists.
Baptist Behavioral Medicine Center
The Children's and Adolescents' Unit at the Baptist Behavioral Medicine Center is an inpatient psychiatric program serving children and youth experiencing serious emotional or behavioral issues. The unit is located on a floor separate and secured from those serving adults.
The Meridian
The Meridian provides intensive inpatient treatment for children and adolescents with severe psychiatric, emotional or behavioral disorders. Designated as a Statewide Inpatient Psychiatric Program, The Meridian serves girls and boys from 6 to 17 years old. Services are provided by a multi-disciplinary staff including therapists, case managers, nurses, psychiatric technicians and a school liaison.
